Director Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, Institute of Health Sciences and Technology, RIT

A professor and director of RIT’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program with over 25 years in clinical and academic sonography. Dr. Ghazle is the President of the Rochester Ultrasound Society, the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Ultrasound Technology & Education (JCUTE). Has served on the SDMS Board of Directors, the SDMS Government Relations Committee, the SDMS Educators and Continuing Medical Education Review Committee and the SDMS Western Upstate NY Representative, the Editorial Board of the national Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JDMS), the SDMS-AAOS Writing Panel on Pediatric Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip in Infants, the RIT Strategic Planning Steering Committee, University Council, Treasurer and Operations Officer of the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate and numerous University committees. Has received the 2018 Edwina Award for Diversity and Inclusion, the 2017 RIT Excellence in Student Life Mentor Award, the 2014 Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Distinguished Educator Award, the 2002 RIT Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching, the 2002 RIT Student Affairs Award for Promoting Learning outside the Classroom, the RIT Development and Alumni Relations Recognition and Commendation for Extraordinary Service Award and the RIT Alpha Sigma Lambda Honorary Society Mentor Award and the University of Rochester Medical Center Gold ICARE Star Award for providing high-quality patient care. Dr. Ghazle was included in the 2009 Edition of Marquis’ Who’s Who in America. Has been named one of the “25 Top Professors of Sonography” on medicaltechnologyschools.com based on his active teaching, publications, leadership in the sonography community and professional involvement. Has delivered the keynote speeches at the 2006, 2002 and 2001 RIT Convocations and Orientation ceremonies and many professional presentations nationally and internationally. Has authored or coauthored many papers published in peer-reviewed journals. Has established various partnerships with industry and medical institutions nationally and internationally. Has secured grant funding and ultrasound equipment donations.
