
Edith Williams, MS, Ph.D.
A highly respected health researcher, Dr. Williams is the director of the Center for Community Health & Prevention (CCHP) at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Williams joined URMC in 2022 as the founding director of the Office of Health Equity Research.
Dr. Williams also serves an associate professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, the CCHP, the CTSI, and the Department of Medicine’s Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology Division.
Before joining URMC, Dr. Williams served as the deputy director for Research and Sustainability for the Institute for Partnerships to Eliminate Health Disparities and as assistant professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of South Carolina.
In addition, she was as associate professor of Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Williams earned a master’s degree in Epidemiology and a doctorate in Epidemiology and Community Health from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
