
Andrew J. Shatté, PhD
Dr. Andrew Shatté is a co-founder of meQuilibrium and serves as meQ’s Chief Knowledge Officer. He has devoted his 35-year career to the psychology of resilience; how to define it, measure it, and boost it. He is the go-to expert on resilience and is in high demand as a speaker, having delivered over 3,000 keynote speeches and addresses over the last three decades.
Dr. Shatté is an adjunct Research Professor in the College of Medicine at The University of Arizona. He is faculty with the Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College and with the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. He is the founder and President of Mindflex, LLC; a consulting and training company that specializes in resilience.
Dr. Shatté received his undergraduate degrees in philosophy and psychology at the University of Queensland in his native Australia, where he was awarded the university’s gold medal for academic excellence. He took his Master’s and Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania where he contributed to the very first endeavors in positive psychology.
Dr. Shatté has developed resilience programs to prevent depression in at-risk children, for college students to optimize their abilities, and to promote productivity, health, and mental well-being in the workplace. He is a global trainer and consultant with organizations including GE Aerospace, Hewlett Packard, Verizon, Sprint, Merck, PepsiCo, ING, & NASA. He has provided training to thousands of leaders in the U.S. federal government, in the intelligence community, and all branches of the military.
Dr. Shatté is a decorated teacher from the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Psychology, voted the best professor by students in the School of Arts and Sciences and has received the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Dr. Shatté is co-author of “The Resilience Factor,” released by Random House in October 2002 and re-released in 2010. He is co-author of “meQuilibrium: 14 Days to Cooler, Calmer, & Happier”, a book on resilience and stress released by Random House in 2015.
