E. Kate Valcin, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CCRN-K, CNL, FCCM
Director of Adult Critical Care Nursing, University of Rochester Medical Center
Dr. E. Kate Valcin, is currently serving as the President of the NY Organization for Nursing
Leadership and is also the Director of Adult Critical Care Nursing at UR Medicine, Strong Memorial
Hospital.
Kate completed her undergraduate work at Roberts Wesleyan College, a Masters
Degree in Nursing with a concentration in education from Duke University, a
post master’s certificate as a Clinical Nurse Leader and DNP from the University of Rochester School of
Nursing. She was recently inducted as Fellow in the American Academy of
Critical Care Medicine.
Kate serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of Haiti Providence University, an
organization that supports the work of Haiti Providence University- seeking to transform Haiti
through developing leaders in many disciplines, including nursing.
