Univera Healthcare

Ryan Barrett is Vice President, Commercial CFO and Underwriting at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and
Univera Healthcare. Ryan has financial oversight for the Commercial line of business totaling
approximately $3 billion in revenue. He has direct and matrixed oversight of all finance, including
Underwriting, Actuarial Services, Client Consulting, Employer Reporting, and Lifetime Benefit Solutions.
Ryan has more than 17 years of experience in health care and has previously served in various
leadership roles for the Health Plan since joining the organization in 2005. Previous roles have given
Ryan experience in Value Based Payment arrangements, Enterprise Program Management, Strategic
Planning, and Merger and Acquisition activities.

Ryan currently serves on the Le Moyne College Alumni Board. Previous roles include serving on the
Eastside YMCA Board of Managers as Board Chair and on the Greater Syracuse YMCA Board of
Directors. He has been a coach in the Little Patriots Basketball League as well as for Penfield Little
Leaque Baseball. Ryan and his family also serve as hospitality ministers at St Joseph’s Church in
Penfield. In addition, Ryan volunteers his time assisting the Excellus Veterans Network Employee
Resource Group.

Ryan holds both a BS in Economics and an MBA from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY; a Certificate in
Executive Leadership and Project Management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY; and has his NYS
License for Life, Accident and Health Insurance. In 2012 Ryan was a recipient of the Central New York
Business Journal “Forty Under 40” award in Syracuse, NY.

Ryan and his wife reside in Rochester, NY, and have two children.
